MANIPUR ON FIRE: A STATE ROCKED BY VIOLENCE

The northeastern state within Manipur has been consumed by a wave with ethnic violence. Skirmishes between the Meitei and Kuki communities have resulted at widespread bloodshed, leaving dozens dead and thousands forced from their homes. The violence ignited after a court ruling which the Meitei community's demand for reservation in government jobs.
